Whether you want to be the next Elon Musk or run a small non-profit, business skills are some of the most universal and widely transferable across industries. Our Stride Career Prep offers the opportunity to start learning business skills in high school, helping students build their future careers before they even graduate.
The Stride Career Prep Business curriculum offers seven pathways in accounting, finance, administration, entrepreneurship, management, hospitality, and marketing communications. Students can start developing the real-world skills required for entry-level jobs in business right out of high school.
Our research partner, Burning Glass, has compiled data from thousands of job descriptions to identify the necessary, defining, and distinguishing skills required for entry-level jobs in business:
Necessary skills are defined as specialized skills required for a job and relevant across similar jobs.
Defining skills represent the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities of the job.
Distinguishing skills are defined as skills that set an employee apart and command a salary and growth premium.
Through hands-on, project-based learning, job shadowing and internships, and Stride Career Prep students develop these skills throughout their high school experience and graduate prepared to launch into rewarding, skill-based careers. Additionally, students who choose to go straight to college after high school have already earned up to two years of college credit through our dual-credit model. It’s a win-win!
