Kaitlyn Huffman, 17, graduated a year early as valedictorian from iQ Academy of Los Angeles, earning 20 college credits through online public schooling. She credits time management, sleep, family support, and faith for her success. Originally attending Rosamond High, she switched to online school after her siblings faced challenges in traditional settings. Kaitlyn plans to study nursing at Antelope Valley College and teaches Sunday School. Her mother describes her as smart, kind, and deeply dedicated.

North Carolina Virtual Academy is welcoming 4,000 students for the 2025 school year, serving grades K–12 as a tuition-free public charter school. Head of Schools Kristina Rodrigues says families choose NCVA for flexibility, safe learning environments, and personalized support—benefiting athletes, students with social anxiety, and others seeking alternatives to traditional schools. Students complete orientation, diagnostics, and training on Canvas before starting classes. NCVA continues to accept new enrollments for kindergarten through sixth grade.
Tulsa High School Senior Receives Perfect Act Score on First Try
Krista Bader, a senior at Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy, earned a perfect 36 on the ACT—an achievement reached by fewer than 0.3% of test-takers nationwide. Despite modest expectations, her preparation through OVCA classes and independent study led to the remarkable score. Beyond academics, Krista serves as a volunteer tutor and captain of her school’s robotics team. Inspired by her mother’s support, she hopes to continue helping others learn and dreams of attending Stanford University.
