For the 10th year, Tyler and Monica Slaven of Ashland are spreading holiday cheer to children at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus through their annual toy drive. Started in 2015 while they were students at Ohio Virtual Academy, the drive has collected over 100,000 toys. Now a multigenerational family tradition, the Slavens involve siblings, spouses, and even toddlers in the effort. Donations can be sent to OHVA’s office, ensuring more smiles for kids spending Christmas in the hospital.
