BOISE, ID (CBS2) — Eric Olsen, a math teacher at Idaho Technical Career Academy recently created a board game – called Glyphics – to bring students together.
The board game is now gaining national attention, and even available at Target, Amazon and local toy stores across the Treasure Valley.
Olsen, wanted to encourage his own kids to set aside their devices, so he created the first version of Glyphics.
A self proclaimed ‘game nerd,’ Olsen is now taking his passion and adding a new title, professional board game designer.
And through some hard work and trial and error, he’s now developing multiple other games.
“I’ve been designing games on the side and I have three more games that are getting pitched to publishers right now, and a couple of them have publishers interested so I’m really excited,” shares Olsen.
He even previewed one of his new games to CBS 2 – it’s called “Flip It”.
“It’s a push your luck game so you can choose to continue to test probability and it can pay off, or not,” Olsen teases.
He tells CBS 2 that with these games in development. he hopes to bring into the market, and hopefully, into local homes.
