A new report from U.S. News & World Reports ranks the best public high schools across the country. The report ranked more than 17,000 schools, and 126 from Maine made the list.
The organization used six indicators of school quality to come up with the list. These include College Readiness, State Assessment Proficiency, State Assessment Performance, Underserved Student Performance, College Curriculum Breadth, and Graduation Rate.
Here are the top 10 high schools in Maine that made the list.
- Greely High School
- Kennebunk High School
- Katahdin Middle/High School
- Rangeley Lakes Regional School
- Casco Bay High School
- Gray-New Gloucester High School
- Maine Connections Academy
- Freeport High School
- Ashland District School
- Maine Virtual Academy
