Corri Taylor, a Kentucky Virtual Academy teacher, was selected for the inaugural 2025 Teaching Kentucky History Institute. She joins 21 other educators in a five-day program studying Kentucky’s early history, collaborating with experts, and exploring historical sites. The program focuses on Indigenous populations, European settlement, and Kentucky’s role in the American Revolution. Participants will gain resources to enhance history education in their schools. Applications for the 2026 cohort open in September 2025.

Self-Taught Pianist Makes Mark at Graduation
Ana Castillo, a self-taught pianist and senior at Texas Online Preparatory School, is performing at her graduation ceremony on the University of Dallas campus. She began learning piano by ear six years ago, teaching herself through YouTube tutorials. Homeschooling gave Ana the space to thrive—academically, socially, and musically. She’s played at weddings, church, and K12 events, and credits her faith and family for her growth. After graduation, Ana plans to pursue real estate while continuing her music journey.
Online Students Celebrate Graduation
Nearly 200 graduates from Florida Cyber Charter Academy came together in person to celebrate their milestone at the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center. The Class of 2025 is headed in bold directions: 71 students are pursuing college (with over $300K in scholarships), 81 have job offers, 20 are entering trade schools, and nine are enlisting in the military. FLCCA’s flexible model helps students chart unique paths to success after graduation.
